What we do

Here are some of the needs we address for those in need in South Sudan.

Water

After displacement, people moved to some high areas where there is no clean water if they have water at all. SHOHF strives to dig walls or boreholes in these areas.

Education

When community leaders were asked what they needed most, they said, “A school for our children”. Displaced from their previous way of life, their children have no hope for the future without receiving an education. SHOHF used a memorial gift as the “leap of faith” needed to found the “Dennis and Barb Anderson Primary School”. Over 300 children are participating but ongoing support is needed to meet this need.

Dignity

SHOHF works with our South Sudan partners to give meaning to people’s lives. SHOHF helped purchase plastic tarps that were used for shelter when housing was unavailable. We have provided emergency food shipments to several IDP camps along the Nile river and given special gifts to the children orphaned by conflict.
